Record Machine
An offline iPhone app for musicians organising a release — demos in, albums and tracks out, metadata attached.
What it is
A paid, offline-first utility for a musician putting together an album or EP. You import the audio you already have — voice memos, demos, mixes — through the Files picker, organise it into albums and tracks, attach the metadata a release needs (writers, BPM, key, genre, lyrics, liner notes, artwork), and play it back through a custom player. It is not a recorder; it never touches the microphone.
How it is built
SwiftUI with the Observation framework, SwiftData for the library, AVFoundation for playback behind a small provider protocol, iOS 17 and up, iPhone only. Straight paid-up-front: no in-app purchases, no accounts, and the privacy label says truthfully that the developer collects no data.
Status
Version 1.0.2 has been live on the App Store since October 2024. The source is not public — this is the one project in this section sold rather than cloned. The repository's tip carries an unreleased experiment (sign-in plus streaming) that must not ship as it stands, so the next update is a cleanup: strip that branch, restore a dropped fix for audio files surviving app updates, add the privacy manifest, and then an on-device pass before it goes out.
